What We Believe

What We Believe at Olive Branch Christian Church

Our beliefs are simple and solely based on the inspired Word of God.

We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God (Matthew 16:16.)

Our average attendance for the two services is around 160. Depending on the service time the individual service attendance ranges from 60-100.
We do not have a creed for all to recite, for we believe that the New Testament requires only a plain statement of our faith and belief in Christ as the Son of the Living God.

We believe as the New Testament teaches that baptism is the immersion of a person old enough to believe that Christ is the Son of the Living God. Baptism follows upon a confession of faith. “Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins” (Acts 2:38.) Adults who have been baptized in another faith community join with Olive Branch Christian Church through a transfer of membership.

We believe that the celebration of the Lord’s Supper is the spiritual center of our worship every Sunday. The New Testament strongly implies that the Lord’s Supper was observed as often as Christians gathered to worship. Each person decides for himself whether or not to share in the observance.

We believe that the purpose of the Olive Branch Christian Church shall be as revealed in the New Testament. To win people to faith in Jesus Christ and commit them actively to the church. To help them grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ, and therefore learn and know to do His will. To work for the unity of all Christians, and with them engage in the common task of building the Kingdom of God.
